Baseball

A Life in Baseball.

A Different Perspective.

For 30 seasons, baseball was my life. Along the way, I discovered another way to experience the game—through the lens of a camera. Ink & Light is where I share those photographs, capturing the ballparks, people, and moments that have made this journey unforgettable.

Through My Lens

My interest in photography began long before Ink & Light. In 2003, while playing professional baseball, I bought my first film camera. I'd wander the neighborhoods of cities we visited, shooting rolls of film and dropping them off at the local drugstore, curious to discover what I'd captured.

Over the years, photography came and went as life and baseball demanded more of my attention. But I kept returning to it.

In 2022, I began carrying a camera everywhere. Between games, flights, and the relentless rhythm of a Major League season, I found myself wandering unfamiliar streets, discovering neighborhoods, and seeing familiar places in entirely new ways. Those walks became my Walkabouts—a quiet escape from the noise of professional baseball and a chance to experience the world at my own pace.

Eventually, my camera found its way back into the clubhouse, too. Through film and digital portraits, I began capturing the people I'd spent a lifetime around, discovering another side of their stories.

What began as a hobby had become something much more personal. Photography gave me a different way to see the world I'd spent 30 years traveling through.
